Interesting that you had some luck with the PL2303 for PTT. For the most part, the Prolific chips are some of the more troublesome chipsets for OS X (poor drivers), whereas the FTDI and Keyspan are much better supported in OS X (especially the Keyspan USA-19HS). Of course, you won't need that for PTT any longer with the SignaLink. And CODEC is selected. Are you using an external modem/sound card? I am using the SignalLink USB, and it installs a driver in the Mac for the USB ports. When you look at System Preferecees/Sound, you need to select the driver. For the SignalLink it is called USB AUDIO CODEC. If using PTT to transmit, you need to set the audio output high enough to actuate the transmitter. On mine this is around the 60% level.

First, what is the Signalink USB? The Signalink USB is in fact an external USB monophonic sound card and radio interface. It plugs into a USB2.0 port on a computer. It will not work properly on USB1.1 ports. It is powered from the 5 volt buss in the USB port.
